COSMOPOLITE STUDIO PROJECT
The past survives, but never unchanged.
«cosmopolite» is a studio project that approaches the Werkprozess (German; work process) as an ontology of becoming. The word studio is meant quite literally here: not merely as a workplace, but through its Latin root studium — meaning eagerness, devotion and the pursuit of knowledge. The studio is therefore both a physical and conceptual space in which artistic practice can accumulate, be examined, re-contextualised and allowed to evolve. «cosmopolite» is less a claim to cosmopolitan sophistication than a play on the idea of a polite universe — extending artistic inquiry beyond the boundaries of what is commonly perceived as ordinary or mundane.
The project functions as a field of accumulation: works, encounters, research and biographical trajectories remain in dialogue across fields and disciplines — a space in which an artistic life can gather form without being fixed into a final shape. At times, this field opens to others through encounter, participation or collaboration, an invitation into the ongoing process of study, making and becoming.
